FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do you Administer Treatment (what do you do)? Acupuncture treatment can be administered in several ways and by different methods. Most people know that needles are inserted into acupuncture points but I also use non-invasive methods of treatment, such as electro acupuncture. Acupuncture points on the ears and body have a low electrical resistance and we can measure this when electro-acupuncture therapy is administered. Therefore, if you do not like needles, it won’t be a problem, because you can still have Acupuncture. Does it hurt? Acupuncture needles are very fine and are not like needles that are used for injections. Generally they do not cause any pain when they are inserted. Some clients feel a tingling sensation or a warm feeling, which is quite normal. Electro-acupuncture is a very effective alternative method of treatment, which can be used when needles are inappropriate to administer, e.g.. for the very young or elderly. Is it safe? Yes, very safe. Only pre-sterilised, single use, disposable needles are used. Our regulatory body sets a very high standard on hygiene and safe practice. How many treatments will I need? + Fees This is a difficult question to answer because there are many variables to consider. I have to take into consideration your age, how long you have had the condition and how it may be affecting you. However, a course of four treatments is recommended initially, with follow up treatments as and when necessary. |
